On behalf of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Vikentievich Dorohovich, First Deputy Minister of Sports and Tourism, took part in the meeting of the Council.

In accordance with the agenda of the meeting, the Council was provided with information on the preparation of Belarus for the II Games of the CIS countries, which will be held in Belarus from 3 to 15 August 2023.

Alexander Dorohovich noted that Belarus has significant experience in holding major sports competitions. He stressed that Belarus will do everything necessary to ensure that the II Games of the CIS countries, which will be held not only in Minsk, but also in all regional cities of Belarus, are organized at the highest level.

Alexander Vikentievich also noted that Belarus has modern sports facilities and invited athletes from the CIS member states to conduct joint training camps on the eve of the 2024 Summer Olympics, as well as to participate in competitions held in Belarus (almost all events have the status ” open”).

During two competitive days, sports and tourism workers defended the honor of their institutions and fought for victory in 17 sports.

On the 2nd day of the Spartakiad, the participants competed in the “Laser Run” discipline, which is a relay race in running and shooting from a laser pistol, and also competed in dragon boat races.

As part of the closing ceremony of the Spartakiad, the solemn awarding of winners and prize-winners took place.

1st September, in honor of the start of the new academic year, the Minister of Sports and Tourism of Belarus Sergei Kovalchuk visited the institution “Belarusian State University of Physical Education” and met with students.

The meeting began with a solemn speech by Sergei Mikhailovich:

“I would like to wish the young guys to be true patriots of their country, sensitively absorb everything that the teachers here pass on to you. Great sportsmen came out of these walls of our illustrious educational institution, who proudly carried the banner of Belarusian sports at many competitions and arenas. Happy holiday and a fruitful school year!”

Then the rector of BSUPC Sergei Repkin delivered parting words.

“I would very much like that upon graduation from our institution, many of you will be included in the annals of our university as renowned specialists in your field. Be happy and good luck in your studies.”

After the end of the solemn line, the Minister of Sports and Tourism, together with students and faculty, attended a history lesson “Historical memory – the road to the future” from the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko in video format.

On the Day of Knowledge in all schools and universities of the country, the topic of the first lesson was devoted to historical memory.
