On November 20, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed decrees No. 367 “On calling elections of deputies” and No. 368 “On calling elections to the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus.”
These documents, in accordance with the requirements of the Constitution, provide for the holding of elections to the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the eighth convocation and local Councils of Deputies of the twenty-ninth convocation on a single voting day – February 25, 2024, and to the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the eighth convocation – April 4, 2024.
The nomination of candidates for members of the Council of the Republic by local Councils of Deputies, executive and administrative bodies must take place no later than March 21, 2024.
